Roche to present new breast cancer data at SABCS
Roche will be presenting new clinical data on its breast cancer treatment portfolio at the CTRC-AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABC) this month.
The company will be attending the event next week in order to showcase key findings on new treatments, including data from Cleopatra, the first phase III trial of pertuzumab in combination with Herceptin and docetaxel chemotherapy.
Further information on pertuzumab will come from the Neosphere and Tryphaena, phase II studies that aim to further strengthen the clinical profile of the developmental drug.
In addition, Roche will also be presenting data from the Virgo metastatic breast cancer registry in order to highlight the potentially important role of HER2 diagnostic testing in identifying and treating the disease.
Dr Hal Barron, chief medical officer and head of global product development at Roche, said: "We are making additional substantial progress against HER2-positive breast cancer, a disease for which we have already dramatically changed the standard of care and improved patient outcomes."
This comes in the same week that the company launched the cobas EGFR Mutation Test, a companion diagnostic tool used to identify lung cancer patients who can benefit from Tarceva treatment.
