CareFusion launches new Pyxis Enterprise System

CareFusion has announced the launch of the Pyxis Enterprise System, a next-generation version of the company's flagship medication management offering.

The new system incorporates hardware and software elements to simplify medication management procedures, both on a single-facility level and across health systems as a whole.

With the Pyxis Enterprise Server, hospitals will need to manage only one dispensing system for the entire hospital or health network, while the Pyxis MedStation ES also offers streamlined workflows and fewer manual steps.

Meanwhile, the CareFusion Coordination Engine utilises a single, fault-tolerant interface engine for all CareFusion products, thus minimising the number of interface connections involved in the system.

Rusty Frantz, senior vice-president and general manager of dispensing technologies at CareFusion, said: "We've built an all-new dispensing platform to make it even easier to manage medications based on our customers' unique size, scope, capacity and clinical workflows, allowing them more time to focus on patient care."

Last month, the company announced its financial results for the first quarter of its new fiscal year, reporting revenue growth of four percent.
