Bausch and Lomb receives CE Mark for Victus femtosecond laser

Bausch and Lomb has been granted European CE Mark approval for the Victus femtosecond laser platform, which has been developed in conjunction with Technolas Perfect Vision (TPV).

The new device has been designed to support cataract, refractive and therapeutic procedures on a single platform, offering enhanced precision compared to manual techniques and improving the patient experience.

Having received this approval for Lasik flap, astigmatic keratotomy, Intracor, capsulotomy and lens fragmentation applications, the Victus system is expected to commence shipping before the end of the year.

Bausch and Lomb will work alongside TPV to promote the new product globally and will now be seeking further approvals from other regulatory authorities worldwide.

This comes after the companies agreed a deal earlier this year providing Bausch and Lomb with an option to acquire TPV, based on the achievement of certain milestones.
