Binding Site wins EEF manufacturing award

Binding Site has been presented with an award for its export strategy at the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2011.

The science company was presented with the EEF Midlands Outstanding Export Award by the manufacturing industry organisation, recognising the effectiveness of an export strategy that has been redeveloped and refined over the last ten years.

Thanks to a combined effort by its sales and marketing, technical, research and development, human resources and finance teams, the company now exports around 90 percent of its products.

A judging panel led by Cranfield University offered particular praise for the company's success in breaking into the challenging US market, where it is experiencing progressive growth despite a challenging regulatory environment.

Doug Mahoney, regional director for UK Trade and Investment in the West Midlands, said: "I very much hope other firms in the region follow Binding Site's example and move into foreign markets."

This comes after the company received praise earlier this year from Sir Nigel Rudd, chairman of the Business Growth Fund, for its sustainable expansion in recent years.
