Parexel agrees research alliance with UH Bristol NHS trust

30th January 2012

Parexel is allying with the University Hospitals Bristol (UH Bristol) NHS Foundation Trust in the latest expansion of its research alliance network.

The new partnership will allow the biopharmaceutical services provider to further support its early-phase patient research, providing clients with access to diverse patient populations in important therapeutic areas.

UH Bristol is the region's largest provider of medical and dental teaching and employs over 7,900 people, complementing Parexel's own dedicated team of experts and hospital-based early phase units.

Dr Sy Pretorius, corporate vice-president and worldwide head of early phase research at Parexel, said the trust's experience in conducting clinical research in multiple fields makes it an ideal partner.

He added: "Our extensive, relevant experience and in-depth expertise, as well as global access to suitable patient populations, all contribute to our ability to assist clients with ever more complex early-phase trial design and execution."

Earlier this month, the company announced the appointment of former US Food and Drug Administration senior official David Elder to the role of vice-president of its strategic compliance services team.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801278201-ADNFCR
