KCI appoints new senior management team

30th January 2012

KCI has announced a series of significant changes to its senior management team as part of a major business reorganisation.

Ronald Matricaria, a healthcare industry veteran who has worked with companies such as St Jude Medical and Lilly in the past, has been appointed as chairman of KCI and sister company LifeCell, which are owned by a consortium led by Apax Partners.

Joseph Woody – who joined the company from Covidien in November 2011 – has been appointed president and chief executive officer (CEO) of KCI, while existing LifeCell president Lisa Colleran takes on the additional role of CEO of this business.

Following this reorganisation, the two companies will be managed independently, though their financial reporting will remain consolidated.

Buddy Gumina, partner and co-head of the Apax Healthcare Team, said: "We believe that bringing Ron on as chairman, together with the appointment of Joe Woody and Lisa Colleran to the CEO roles at KCI and LifeCell, creates the ideal environment for outstanding success."

KCI's merger with the Apax consortium was completed in November 2011.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801278428-ADNFCR
