Ipsen reports strong sales performance in 2012
Ipsen has published its financial report for 2012 after generating sales of 1.16 billion euros (961.68 million pounds) during the year.
The pharmaceutical company achieved a 5.4 percent year-on-year improvement in sales during the year, thanks in part to strong double-digit growth in the fourth quarter, as well as primary and specialty care product sales that met or exceeded Ipsen's expectations.
International drug demand was shown to be improved compared to 2010, with more than two-thirds of the company's top 15 countries seeing growth in excess of 15 percent.
Other highlights of the year include Ipsen's ongoing restructuring of its US commercial platform and the success of its ongoing collaboration with Inspiration.
Chairman and chief executive officer Marc de Garidel said: "I truly believe this is an outstanding achievement to grow faster than the pharmaceutical market while delivering on all the identified strategic milestones presented last June."
Last month, the company announced a new partnership with Oncodesign, which will see the two firms developing new therapies for Parkinson's disease.
