Allergan ‘pleased’ with fourth quarter and full-year results for 2011

6th February 2012

Allergan has expressed satisfaction with its growth during the 2011 fourth quarter and full-year periods.

The healthcare company accrued $1.38 billion (876.87 million pounds) in total product net sales during the last three months of the year, up by 7.2 percent compared to Q4 2010.

Rising pharmaceutical product demand helped to offset a relatively slow performance for its medical device division, with the multipurpose treatment Botox demonstrating particular strength.

Allergan now expects to generate total product sales of between $5.65 billion and $5.85 billion in 2012, led by key franchises such as Botox, Restasis and Lumigan.

David Pyott, Allergan's chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer, said: "In 2012, we look forward to building on the momentum gained from the regulatory approvals and increased investment in research and development to further strengthen our pipeline."

Last month, the company announced that it will be investing $350 million into its facility in County Mayo, Ireland, with the aim of expanding its manufacturing capability.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801284482-ADNFCR
