GlaxoSmithKline plans new consumer health marketing push
GlaxoSmithKline has revealed plans for a major new UK consumer health marketing campaign, designed the bolster the growth of its key brands.
A multimillion-pound advertising initiative will be rolled out over the coming months to reinforce the profile of product ranges such as Sensodyne, Aquafresh, Macleans and Corsodyl in the face of challenging industry conditions, reports Chemist and Druggist.
Other specific healthcare products that will be pushed include the Piri anti-allergy range, with campaigns including a pharmacy-specific scheme focused on chicken pox prevention.
Peter Harding, general manager of consumer healthcare at GlaxoSmithKline, said this will help the company to capitalise on the growth opportunities presented by the disruptive economic cycle.
Jon Workman, vice-president of sales for the firm, added: "We are perfectly placed to meet shopper and customer needs now and in the future. I am confident that our plans will deliver exceptional growth opportunities."
This comes after the firm released its financial report for 2011 earlier this month, highlighting underlying sales growth of four percent during the year.
