Henry Schein listed on ethical companies ranking

Henry Schein has been named in the Ethisphere Institute's 2012 ranking of the world's most ethical companies.

The dental supplier has been recognised as part of the 145-company list for its work in promoting excellence in terms of ethical standards across the healthcare industry, winning praise for its strong leadership, high business standards and corporate social responsibility efforts.

It came after an extensive review of the firm's code of ethics, its litigation and regulatory infraction histories and its commitment to innovation and sustainability, among other criteria.

In making the list, Henry Schein was able to see off competition from more than 5,000 other nominated businesses.

Stanley Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "A deep commitment to the highest ethical standards and business practices has been a hallmark of Henry Schein since our founding in 1932 and continues to be at the very core of our business model."

This comes after Fortune Magazine named Henry Schein as one of the most admired companies in the world earlier this month.
