Ansell launches Sandel safety devices in Europe

Ansell has announced plans to introduce its Sandel healthcare safety devices to Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA) this year, with a global launch to follow in the near future.

The product, which helps in will be introduced during the sixth annual European Operating Room Nurses Association Congress in Lisbon, Portugal, this April.

It is expected to complement Ansell's existing range of hand-protection solutions, while helping hospitals comply with the European Sharps Safety Directive regulations on handling tools such as scalpels.

Anthony Lopez, president and general manager of Ansell Medical Global Business Unit, said this move is an "important step forward" for the company.

"The availability of the product range in EMEA is a significant next step in Ansell's path towards becoming a global leader in safety and infection prevention," he added.

Ansell recently highlighted the success of its new brand of Skyn condoms, noting that it recorded a 47 percent increase in sales last year.
