Owen Mumford opens new Chinese operations in Shanghai

17th April 2012

Owen Mumford has announced the opening of its first Chinese sales office, a move that will allow it to capitalise on the growth of the Asian nation's medical sector.

The new Shanghai operating base will be headed by general manager Jim Zhang, leading a team of four people in the development of an Owen Mumford-branded business across China.

Mr Zhang has a background in thoracic surgery, healthcare sales and marketing and will be tasked with establishing the company's brand, reputation, relationships and business.

This comes at a time when the International Diabetes Federation is predicting an increase in the number of diabetics in China from 92 million to 130 million between now and 2030.

Jarl Severn, managing director of Owen Mumford, said: "Patients need help to manage their condition and I know that with our product portfolio in capillary blood sampling and insulin injection devices, we are one of the best-placed companies to do that."

The organisation also operates offices in the UK, US, Middle East, Germany, France and Malaysia.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801341843-ADNFCR
