Parexel’s chief operating officer wins special APCR award

Parexel's chief operating officer (COO) Dr Mark Goldberg has received a special recognition award from the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR).

During a ceremony and reception at the ACRP 2012 global conference and exhibition earlier this month, Dr Goldberg was honoured for his contributions to the advancement of clinical research over the years.

Appointed to the Parexel COO role in 2008, the medical expert has been with the company for 15 years and has been helping biopharmaceutical companies to improve decision-making and research efficiency through the use of IT for two decades.

He also played a key role in the establishment of Perceptive Informatics, Parexel's technology subsidiary and a leading e-clinical solutions provider.

Dr Goldberg said: "This award is a testament to Parexel's longstanding vision of leveraging information technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness throughout the clinical development process."

Later this month, the company will be hosting special symposia in Copenhagen and Stockholm to offer guidance on clinical efficiencies to biopharmaceutical companies.
