ResMed reports record results for third quarter

ResMed has announced record-breaking financial results for the third quarter of its current business year, which ended on March 31st 2012.

The company achieved a sales total of $349.1 million (215.69 million pounds) for the three-month period, up by 11 percent year on year, while income from operations and net income rose by 20 percent and 21 percent to $76.5 million and $64.6 million respectively.

Mask and flow generator sales growth were both highlighted as being particularly robust, while the launch of the company's patient compliance management solution EasyCare Online will also take place soon.

Dr Peter Farrell, chairman and chief executive officer at ResMed, highlighted the growing body of clinical evidence that sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) can be linked to various harmful health disorders.

He added that this "points to the increasing need to make the diagnosis and treatment of SDB a standard of care in the various medical silos where currently the problem is too easily ignored".

ResMed has maintained a record pace of financial growth throughout the current and previous fiscal years, with sales for the final six months of 2011 up by ten percent year on year.
