Medtronic reports revenue increase in Q4
Medtronic has announced its Q4 results, revealing a four percent jump in revenue bringing it up to $4.3 billion (2.7 billion pounds) on a constant currency basis.
Net earnings increased by an impressive 28 percent to reach $991 million, representing $0.94 per diluted share for investors in the company.
On an annual basis, the firm reported revenue of $16.184 billion and net earnings of $3.617 billion.
Omar Ishrak, Medtronic chairman and chief executive officer, said: "I am pleased with our improved revenue growth this quarter in a dynamic healthcare environment."
He added that the company's expansion was strongly based across a wide range of products and geographies, pointing to "strong growth in emerging markets" as key to the success enjoyed by the firm over Q4.
Medtronic recently reported that a new clinical study found its CoreValve System can offer benefits to both male and female patients at risk for surgical aortic valve.
