Philips launches Due Date app

Philips has launched a new app designed to connect different mothers-to-be who have the same due date, helping them share their experiences of pregnancy and post reports on their progress.

Expectant mums will also be able to publish photos, share links to videos and invite each other to any baby-related events they have planned.

The app will be available on a wide range of smartphones and also on tablet devices including the iPad and BlackBerry PlayBook.

Users will also be able to access it online with a desktop computer or laptop, making it even easier for pregnant mothers to share their experiences with other people and discuss their concerns with peers and professionals.

"The Philips AVENT Due Date Club is a secure, friendly environment for mums of all walks of life to make friends and start the wonderful journey of being a mother," the company explained.

Philips recently released Q1 results showing a four percent jump in like-for-like sales, largely thanks to growth in its healthcare division.
