Agilent expands market-leading SureFISH probe range

30th May 2012

Agilent Technologies has expanded its range of SureFISH probes to encompass more than 425 different products.

The company now offers the largest selection of oligonucleotide-based fluorescent in situ hybridisation (FISH) assays on the market, including centromere probes for all 24 chromosomes and 35 telomere probes.

Using the Agilent SureFISH probes, researchers can conduct analysis of nonrepetitive regions of the genome, with the devices offering superior resolution compared to other technologies.

Specific chromosomal regions can be targeted using the oligo FISH probes with a fast turnaround time, offering hybridisation in as little as four hours.

Robert Schueren, Agilent's vice-president and general manager for genomics, said: "In just over two months we have dramatically increased the number of probes we offer, demonstrating our commitment to quickly expand this portfolio for our customers."

Earlier this month, the company announced the acquisition of cancer diagnostics specialist Dako, the biggest deal in Agilent's history.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801375316-ADNFCR
