CareFusion agrees deal to acquire UK Medical

12th June 2012

CareFusion has announced plans to purchase the medical product distribution company UK Medical, which is based in Sheffield.

The company is aiming to strengthen its British operations through the acquisition of UK Medical, which primarily provides clinically differentiated interventional and implantable single-use medical equipment to the NHS.

It possesses strong customer relationships and clinical marketing expertise in this field, while it has also served as the sole UK distributor of CareFusion's interventional technologies portfolio.

Over the last three years, the partnership has helped to drive a nearly 50 percent growth for this CareFusion business unit in the UK.

Gordon LaFortune, executive vice-president of international commercial operations for CareFusion, said: "The acquisition further strengthens CareFusion's presence in the UK, where we have built leadership positions in infusion therapy and infection prevention."

Last month, the company announced its third-quarter results for the 2012 business year, during which it experienced year-on-year revenue growth of nine percent.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801382842-ADNFCR
