Edelman appoints former BBC technology editor
Edelman has hired Tim Weber, former business and technology editor for BBC News Interactive, to a position at boutique technology operation A&R Edelman.
Mr Weber joins the media agency after spending two decades with the public broadcaster, playing a key role in the launch of the BBC website in 1997, reports PRWeek.
Upon his departure from the BBC in May 2012, BBC News Online editor Steve Herman described him as one of the most experienced people in the online news arena.
In his new capacity as a director at A&R Edelman, Mr Weber will provide senior media, social media and content counsel to clients, while being based at its London office.
Rishi Bhattacharya, managing director at A&R Edelman, said: "Tim has a tremendous journalistic pedigree, developed during many years and in numerous roles at the BBC."
Edelman purchased A&R Partners in 2006, at which time the agency was the largest independent technology firm in Silicon Valley.
