Beiersdorf launches Labello Repair and Beauty lip balm

Beiersdorf has announced the launch of Labello Repair and Beauty, a new balm that repairs lips and simultaneously provides them with a rosy shade.

Labello Repair and Beauty helps to provide greater protection for the lips, which have extremely thin and sensitive skin that lacks perspiratory and sebaceous glands.

The personal care product contains two-phase technology and a nourishing formula comprised of dexpanthenol, vitamin E, glycerin and menthol, as well as a rosy external layer containing jojoba oil and shea butter.

Dr Frank Schwanke, head of product development for face and lip care at Beiersdorf, said: "Dexpanthenol is well known for its anti-inflammatory effect and supports the regeneration of the natural barrier function of the skin of the lips. Together with glycerin, dexpanthenol helps returning the balance of moisture to the lips."

Meanwhile, vitamin E is known as an antioxidant that combats the damage caused by free radicals.

Last month, the manufacturer marked the 90th anniversary of Hansaplast, its internationally successful brand of first aid plasters.
