Ansell announces takeover of Comasec SAS

Ansell has announced the acquisition of Comasec SAS, a prominent international manufacturer of personal protective equipment gloves.

The transaction has been valued at 101.5 million euros (80.06 million pounds) and will see Ansell take control of a number of successful brands, including Comasec, Marigold and Marigold Industrial.

Comasec has a strong presence in Europe and North America, while operating manufacturing sites in Portugal and Malaysia and employing more than 1,200 people worldwide.

The takeover will help Ansell strengthen its position in the industrial and specialty markets, while also unlocking various benefits in terms of cost management.

Magnus Nicolin, Ansell's chief executive officer, said: "We expect solid growth synergies as our combined teams and improved offerings help us to better serve our customers."

This comes after the company launched a line of Gammex Non-Latex Accelerator-Free Sensitive surgical gloves featuring a new Sensoprene formulation last month.
