Bayer HealthCare to present new Xarelto data at ESC Congress

21st August 2012

Bayer HealthCare will showcase new data on Xarelto at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2012 to further develop the clinical profile of the multipurpose drug.

At the industry conference later this month, the company will present new information demonstrating the efficacy of the oral anticoagulant among patients at risk of dangerous blood clots across multiple venous and arterial thromboembolic conditions.

Data from the Atlas ACS 2-TIMI 51 study will be presented to show Xarelto's strong secondary acute coronary syndrome prevention performance for high-risk ST-elevation myocardial infarction patients.

Meanwhile, sub-analyses from the successful 14,000 patient phase III Rocket AF trial of Xarelto in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation will also be presented, as will data from the Garfield Registry, which provides clinical insights into the real-world efficacy of atrial fibrillation treatments.

This comes after the manufacturer received a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence for Xarelto to be approved as a deep vein thrombosis therapy in the UK last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801432932-ADNFCR
