Biotronik to demonstrate heart failure products at ESC congress

Biotronik is to demonstrate its full range of innovative heart failure devices at the European Society of Cardiology congress in Munich from August 25th to 29th 2012.

The company will be aiming to showcase its full range of innovative heart failure devices, including Lumax 740 HF-T and Evia HF-T, the world's first CRT-D and CRT-P devices to be approved for magnetic resonance (MR) scans.

These devices come equipped with ProMRI technology that allows cardiac device patients to undergo vital MR scans without interfering with the performance of the implants.

Other products in the company's heart failure portfolio include the Lumax 740 implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, Evia and Estella pacemakers and compatible leads, as well as the Selectra introducer system.

Christoph Bohmer, president of international operations at Biotronik, said: "Heart failure is a growing public health problem and we are committed to developing innovative solutions, such as our new state-of-the-art HF-T devices, to support physicians in treating this condition."

Last month, the company began enrolment for a new study of its Biotronik Home Monitoring system, which will assess the cost-effectiveness benefits of the technology.
