Pfizer to present lung and kidney cancer data at ESMO Congress
Pfizer's oncology division is set to discuss new clinical data on lung and kidney cancer treatments at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress later this month.
Mace Rothenberg, senior vice-president of clinical development and medical affairs at Pfizer's Oncology Business Unit, said the company will present trial results that "substantially enhance our knowledge of both marketed and investigational therapies from our lung and kidney cancer portfolios".
An analysis of data from Profile 1007, a randomised trial comparing the firm's Xalkori treatment with standard chemotherapy in patients with recurrent, ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer, will be presented by Pfizer at the conference.
The company will also report recent findings from its renal cell carcinoma research portfolio, thereby broadening clinical understanding of the Inlyta (axitinib), Sutent (sunitinib malate) and Torisel (temsirolimus) treatments.
Taking place in Vienna, the ESMO Congress is due to run from September 28th to October 2nd.
