Sartorius launches bioreactor production facility
Sartorius has announced the official opening of a new German manufacturing facility for the production of bioreactors.
Located in Guxhagen in northern Hesse, the site has been developed using an 18 million euro (14.3 million pounds) investment and a construction period of one year, allowing Sartorius to better meet the needs of its biopharmaceutical industry clients.
It spans a total area of nearly 100,000 sq ft and provides space for a high-tech manufacturing hall and offices for around 240 employees, thus helping the company prepare for further expansion.
The owner of the building is Robos, with Sartorius renting the premises in a long-term lease.
Joachim Kreuzburg, the chief executive officer and executive board chairman of Sartorius, said: "The new plant enables us to substantially enhance our manufacturing processes and creates additional capacity for us in view of the rising demand for biopharmaceutical production equipment."
In July 2012, the company raised its guidance for the full financial year, thanks to the better-than-expected rate of growth it experience during the first six months of 2012.
