Bausch and Lomb announces research alliance with Cirle

5th October 2012

Bausch and Lomb has announced a new research alliance with Cirle that will focus on the development of new eye health innovations.

The organisations will be assessing the potential of novel early-stage technologies and develop them into breakthrough innovations that fill previously unmet needs for the eye health community.

Bringing together the experience and expertise of some of the world's leading eye health experts and medical researchers, the alliance will initially involve Bausch and Lomb's pharmaceutical division, but could be extended across its surgical and vision care division.

Dr Cal Roberts, Bausch and Lomb's chief medical officer, said: "The experts at Cirle will bring the kind of perspective to the table that will further help us discover and introduce therapies that can truly impact global eye health."

This comes after the company expanded its product range with the European launch of the enVista Toric intraocular lens (IOL) – the world's first hydrophobic acrylic IOL for astigmatism correction – last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801464563-ADNFCR
