Welch Allyn CEO wins prestigious HIDA accolade

Welch Allyn has celebrated the news that its chief executive officer Steve Meyer has received the industry award for distinction from the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA).

The business leader was presented with the organisation's most prestigious accolade at the 2012 HIDA Streamlining Healthcare Conference, recognising the significant contributions he has made to the medical products sector.

Mr Meyer has been with Welch Allyn since 1981 and has served in a wide variety of important roles over the last three decades, playing a vital part in the firm's global growth.

Upon accepting the award, he said it will be vital for companies from across the industry to take a proactive approach to tackling the challenges posed by healthcare reforms worldwide.

He added: "I would personally like to thank the distinguished leadership team at HIDA and especially my colleagues at Welch Allyn who have been by my side through thick and thin."

Last month, the company announced a series of restructuring initiatives, including the development of three distinct new product development and technology centres, as well as a global finance shared service centre in Mexico.
