Fleishman-Hillard to support Barnes and Noble’s UK Nook launch
Fleishman-Hillard has been appointed by bookseller Barnes and Noble to support the launch of its Nook tablet devices in the UK.
The agency already works to promote the device in the US and will be targeting technology and consumer media outlets as Barnes and Noble makes the range available through major retail outlets.
Barnes and Noble's product selection includes the Nook Simple Touch and Nook Simple Touch GlowLight, which are positioned as competitors to the Kindle e-reader, as well as the forthcoming Nook HD and Nook HD Plus.
This is the chain's first major international expansion effort and will see its products going head-to-head with heavily-marketed tablets such as the Kindle Fire and iPad mini.
Mary Ellen Keating, Barnes and Noble's senior vice-president of corporate communications and public affairs, said: "We've enjoyed a successful partnership with Fleishman-Hillard in the US and we're happy to be extending that relationship to London as we expand internationally."
Part of the Omnicom Group, Fleishman-Hillard is one of the world's most prominent strategic communications firms, operating 80 offices across the globe.
