GE Healthcare showcases new tech at Astro 2012

2nd November 2012

GE Healthcare has demonstrated several advanced imaging technologies and software capabilities at the recent annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (Astro).

The company attended the industry event in Boston to showcase a number of innovations, including the recently-launched Q.Suite, the MD Connect software platform and several wide-bore platforms for magnetic resonance (MR) and computed tomography (CT).

Q.Suite is a breakthrough positron emission tomography technology offering that uses the generation of consistent standardised uptake value readings to help clinicians assess treatment response more accurately.

Meanwhile, the MR and CT systems on display included the Discovery CT590 RT and a wide variety of fixation devices.

Paul Anderson, general manager of oncology for GE Healthcare, said: "The field of radiation oncology requires not just advanced technology, but also an understanding of the tools needed for the accurate and precise delivery of effective and efficient patient care."

Last month, the company announced a new partnership with popular music streaming service Spotify that aims to raise awareness of breast cancer through social media outlets.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801481376-ADNFCR
