Qiagen announces first batch of next-generation sequencing products

Qiagen has unveiled its first wave of next-generation sequencing (NGS) products, which are designed to help advance routine workflow solutions across a number of applications.

The four products improve critical sample preparation processes in the pre-analytical phase of NGS and are designed to be compatible with any NGS platform in the market.

Among them are the Repli-g Single Cell Kit, GeneRead rRNA Depletion Kit, GeneRead DNAseq Gene Panel System and GeneRead Library Quant Kits.

Next year, the company intends to expand its portfolio further by launching solutions for integrated sample preparation, a next-generation benchtop sequencer and gene panels for targeted NGS analysis.

Dr Dietrich Hauffe, senior vice-president for Qiagen's life sciences business area, said: "These four new products simplify the pre-analytical steps, reduce hands-on time and provide easier-to-use protocols for labs using any NGS platform."

Last month, it was announced that Qiagen will be collaborating with Bayer HealthCare to develop new companion diagnostic products for cancer treatments over the coming months.
