Road Communications to support new asthma treatment launch

Road Communications is to assist with the UK launch of Salin Plus, a ventilator-based asthma treatment developed by Virginia Medical Supplies.

The contract, which initially lasts for six months, will see Road explaining the benefits of the device to clinicians, create online educational assets, engage key stakeholder groups and carry out a social media launch programme.

Salin Plus functions by dispersing microscopic salt particles into the lungs and is designed to treat the causes of respiratory disease, offering a gentler mode of action than inhalers.

Virginia Medical Supplies wishes to gain a share of the lucrative respiratory disease market in the UK, which is home to more than five million asthma sufferers.

Paul Jarman, managing director of Road Communications, said: "There is a growing body of evidence for this treatment. It has significant benefits in easing symptoms and offers adjunctive treatment to sufferers with chronic problems."

This comes after the agency was called in to carry out an awareness-building PR campaign for private hearing aid specialist Hidden Hearing earlier this year.
