Orthofix to launch TrueLok Hexapod System worldwide
Orthofix has announced the international launch of the TrueLok Hexapod System (TL-HEX), an external hexapod ring-type fixator for deformity correction and complex trauma treatment.
The device is the latest evolution of the company's TrueLok circular fixation platform and has been co-developed alongside Orthofix's long-term partner the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC).
A multi-planar system that functions alongside an associated software package, TL-HEX will debut in the fourth quarter of 2012 and provides access to the largest segment of the circular and hybrid fixation markets.
This comes after the recent decision by Orthofix to extend its partnership with TSRHC through to 2028, based on its success to date.
Robert Vaters, president and chief executive officer of Orthofix, said: "As a global leader in external fixation, Orthofix is very excited to initiate its international launch of TL-HEX, which truly improves the lives of patients who are suffering from orthopedic deformities or from trauma."
This comes after the firm launched its next-generation spinal spacer system Forza for posterior lumbar interbody fusion and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion techniques last month.
