MHP hires public affairs, corporate and health MD

MHP has announced the appointment of Pete Digger as a new managing director, effective as of November 2013.

Mr Digger's responsibilities will span the agency's public affairs corporate and health operations and will see him reporting directly to the company's chief executive officer Gavin Devine, reports PRWeek.

He has spent the past year leading public affairs work for Good Relations and was previously employed as head of government relations and external affairs for the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

His background combining public affairs work with health and integrated corporate campaigns will be invaluable to MHP as it continues to grow and develop its services.

Mr Devine said: "We are all about integration and not siloing our businesses, and we think Pete really hits the sweet spot when it comes to this."

This comes after it was announced earlier this month that Mike Birtwistle and Sarah Winstone, who left MHP in August 2013, have allied with one-time government adviser Bill Morgan to launch a new agency called Incisive Health.
