Gore Excluder Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis receives CE Mark

WL Gore and Associates is launching its new Gore Excluder Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis in Europe after the device received CE Mark approval.

The product is the first complete, fully-engineered system intended for endovascular treatment of common iliac artery aneurysms or aortoiliac aneurysms, with the first patient procedures in Europe having already been completed in London and Rome.

To be used in conjunction with Gore Excluder AAA Endoprosthesis components, it is able to isolate the common iliac artery from systemic blood flow and preserve blood flow in the external iliac and internal iliac arteries.

It is built on Gore's proven technology platform and designed using the same durable expanded polytetrafluoroethylene graft.

The company also announced the US approval and launch of its new 25cm Gore Viabahn Endoprosthesis this week.
