Pentax Medical provides imaging technology to Cardiff hospital
Pentax Medical has announced that Cardiff Bay Hospital, a top Welsh medical facility, has invested 197,000 pounds into buying state-of-the-art equipment from the company.
Part of the Nuffield Cardiff and Vale Hospitals network, the facility has purchased the equipment to enhance its cancer detection rates and enable earlier treatment, which can improve patient outcomes.
Its departments will be equipped with 11 of the most advanced flexible HD endoscopes on the market, as well as i-scan imaging technology that can also be used to improve the images of tissue lining the stomach, intestines and bladder.
This will aid efforts to further develop Cardiff Bay Hospital as the daycase treatment and diagnostic hub of Nuffield Cardiff and Vale Hospitals.
David Moore, managing director of Pentax UK, said: "By choosing the most technologically advanced endoscopy products on the market, Cardiff Bay Hospital will be able to offer its patients much faster cancer detection rates and treatment turnaround times."
This comes after the firm provided Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital with 58,000 pounds' worth of equipment to enhance its cancer detection capabilities earlier this year.
