Qiagen sees further growth in third quarter of 2013

12th November 2013

Qiagen has announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2013, during which it delivered sales growth in all regions and customer classes, as well as improved profitability.

Its adjusted net sales total for the quarter came to $323.8 million (203.16 million pounds), up by six percent year on year, while income and earnings also increased. This allowed the company to reaffirm its guidance for higher adjusted sales and earnings in 2013.

Qiagen's QIAsymphony technology has now passed the 1,000 installed systems milestone, while its next-generation sequencing initiative is building momentum with the acquisition of CLC Bio and combination with Ingenuity.

Meanwhile, the company's personalised healthcare leadership advanced and its efforts to achieve growth in emerging markets also met with success.

Peer Schatz, chief executive officer of Qiagen, said: "With the capabilities, resources and employees to continue our transformation despite a challenging macroeconomic environment, Qiagen continues to be well-positioned to achieve our goals for 2013 and to create new drivers for future growth."

Last month, the company strengthened its growth prospects further by agreeing a new collaboration with Clovis Oncology in the field of companion diagnostics.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801659758-ADNFCR
