UCB to present new epilepsy data at AES meeting

27th November 2013

UCB will be attending the annual meeting of the American Epilepsy Society (AES) in Washington DC next month, where it will be sharing its latest epilepsy research findings.

During the conference, which runs from December 6th to 10th 2013, the company will give poster presentations on the safety and efficacy of the drug Vimpat in a number of indications, plus several other therapies.

These will include the first presentation of investigational data for Vimpat as a monotherapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in adults with epilepsy, as well as data for brivaracetam, an adjunctive therapy for the same patient group.

In addition, results will be presented from three new epilepsy surveys, a study seeking to identify predictive factors for epilepsy management and an overview of a unique outcomes research partnership between academia and industry.

Professor Dr Iris Loew-Friedrich, chief medical officer and executive vice-president of UCB, said: "The multiple datasets being presented at this year's AES meeting demonstrate UCB's ongoing investment in epilepsy research as part of our longstanding commitment to address unmet needs of people living with epilepsy."

This comes after the company presented related data at the International Epilepsy Congress in Montreal earlier this year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801665561-ADNFCR
