Molnlycke names new chief executive officer
Molnlycke has announced the appointment of Richard Twomey as its new chief executive officer (CEO), succeeding Pierre Guyot.
Mr Twomey will join the company on February 1st 2014 and takes up the role of CEO on April 1st. He is currently international vice-president at orthodontics company Align Technology and has previously held senior positions with companies such as Johnson and Johnson and DePuy.
In order to ensure a smooth transitional period, Mr Guyot – who has led Molnlycke since 2007 – will remain with the company until Mr Twomey assumes his new role.
The outgoing CEO has been credited with transforming Molnlycke from a local business with a focus on northern Europe into a true international market leader.
Gunnar Brock, chairman of Molnlycke Health Care, said: "I am very glad to welcome Richard Twomey, who has a solid med tech background and strong track record in leading growing businesses. I would also like to thank Pierre for his excellent contribution."
Last month, the company announced the completion of a 2.2 million pound investment programme at its UK factory in Oldham, which has created an additional 25 jobs at the site.
