Titian Software’s Mosaic system selected for ELF drug discovery project

Titian Software has announced that its sample management system Mosaic has been selected for use in the new European Lead Factory (ELF) drug discovery initiative.

Following a successful bid to the Innovative Medicines Initiative, BioCity Scotland will spend more than 8.7 million euros (7.28 million pounds) on establishing a compound management facility at Newhouse Scotland that will use Mosaic to streamline its compound operations.

The software will play a central role in compound library screening for the ELF project, which is supported by a 30-partner consortium and aims to allow public organisations to translate academic research into high-quality drug lead molecules with unprecedented speed.

It has been selected on the basis of its proven performance and efficiency, including its optimised storage, tracking and ordering functions, plus its highly flexible and modular software.

Titian chief executive officer Edmund Wilson said: "That BioCity Scotland has chosen to re-implement Mosaic as its sample management system, reflects its success and reputation in the management of extensive and highly valuable compound libraries."

In August 2013, it was announced that healthcare company Evotec has implemented Mosaic at its facility in Connecticut, following the successful long-term use of the software at Evotec's headquarters in Hamburg.
