Ipsen names new head of technical operations
Ipsen has announced the appointment of Jonathan Barnsley as its new executive vice-president in charge of technical operations, effective as of April 1st 2014.
Reporting directly to deputy chief executive officer Christel Bories, Mr Barnsley will become a member of Ipsen's executive committee and will take responsibility for the company's specialty care production facilities and chemistry, manufacturing and controls operations.
He will also have a functional link to primary care production facilities, with support functions to technical operations reporting to him.
Mr Barnsley has been hired based on his broad range of experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, having spent the last 18 years employed by Merck Serono, while prior to this he worked with firms such as Beecham Pharmaceuticals and GlaxoSmithKline.
His appointment comes as part of a wider reorganisation of Ipsen's corporate structure, a process which commenced in November 2013.
This restructuring also saw Dominique Brard join the company as its new executive vice-president in charge of human resources earlier this month.
