Gore makes Fortune Magazine list of best places to work

WL Gore and Associates has been included in Fortune Magazine's annual ranking of the top 100 US-based companies to work for, making the list for a 17th consecutive year.

The organisation was ranked 22nd in the list this year, thanks to its commitment to non-hierarchical, team-based workplaces. It allows its employees to play an active role in choosing what they work on, while defining their own career paths. 

Gore was selected from hundreds of companies competing for a place in the rankings. The selection process involved an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about the firm's programmes and company practices.

This comes after the business was ranked fifth in the Great Place to Work Institute's list of top multinational workplaces last October.

Chief executive officer Terri Kelly said: "We take great pride in our continued recognition as a top workplace in the US and around the world, and we also continue to focus on cultivating a work environment where creativity and innovation thrive."

Gore employs more than 10,000 staff members worldwide, with manufacturing facilities in the US, Germany, UK, Japan and China, plus sales offices in many other nations.
