Beiersdorf announces strong year-on-year growth for 2013
Beiersdorf has expressed satisfaction with its financial results for the 2013 business year, during which it generated a nominal sales total of 6.14 billion euros.
This represented a 1.7 percent year-on-year increase on a nominal basis, or 7.2 percent in organic terms. Its consumer business segment saw a seven percent organic sales growth, while its tesa division expanded by 8.4 percent.
It comes after a year in which Beiersdorf began implementing its Blue Agenda business strategy, which has involved internal reorganisation efforts and the rebranding of key product lines such as Nivea, as well as the introduction of a new company logo.
Stefan Heidenreich, the firm's chief executive officer, said: "The excellent growth dynamic achieved in 2013 across all areas of the group shows that this course is the right one."
This comes after Beiersdorf's supervisory board last week passed a resolution to extend the contract of Mr Heidenreich for a further five years. The new contract begins on January 1st 2015 and runs through to the end of 2019.
