PerkinElmer demonstrates new products at SLAS 2014

PerkinElmer has showcased a number of cutting-edge life science innovations at the third annual Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) conference earlier this month.

Held in San Diego from January 18th to 22nd, the event saw the company demonstrate Opera Phenix, a next-generation confocal high-content screening system that can reliably discriminate phenotypes of complex cellular models.

It also unveiled its Janus chemagic automated nucleic acid workstation, which offers high throughput DNA and RNA extraction with four times the yield and twice the throughput of alternate technologies.

Other offerings included the AlphaLISA immunoassay kits and toolbox reagents for isotyping human and mouse antibodies, metabolic disease research and cell-based epigenetic ubiquitination.

Next month, the company will be attending the Leerink Global Healthcare Conference in New York, where it will present an update on its corporate strategic objectives.
