Sanofi earns sustainability recognition from RobecoSAM
Sanofi has been included in RobecoSAM's Sustainability Yearbook for the seventh consecutive year.
The sustainability-focused international investment company rated Sanofi as one of the top-scoring companies in the pharmaceutical industry, while also awarding it a Silver Class distinction for its excellent sustainability performance.
Sanofi achieved a total score of 83 in the report – up by six points compared to 2012 – and improved on 14 areas, making the best in class category for areas such as marketing practices, talent attraction and retention, corporate citizenship and medicines access policies.
Only the top 15 percent of companies from each industry are included in the Sustainability Yearbook each year.
Gilles Lhernould, senior vice-president for corporate social responsibility at Sanofi, said: "Sanofi is proud of this recognition which underscores that sustainability is an integral part of how we conduct our daily activities around the world."
This comes after the firm was included in the latest World Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Climate Disclosure Leadership Index last year.
