Martindale Pharma launches Noyada in the UK

Martindale Pharma has announced the launch of Noyada, a new captopril-based treatment for paediatric chronic heart failure in newborns, infants and children.

The 5mg/5ml and 25mg/5ml oral solution is the first licensed oral liquid solutions of captopril available in the UK and will be made available exclusively through Alliance Healthcare Distribution.

As compared to tablets, the oral liquid version of captopril allows for accurate dose dispensing. The launch of Noyada also provides healthcare professionals with a much-needed alternative to prescribing unlicensed liquid versions of captopril.

Noyada marks the fifth molecule routinely prescribed as an unlicensed medicine that Martindale Pharma has converted into a licensed product since 2011.

Michael Clark, chief marketing officer of Martindale Pharma, said: "We believe that Noyada is an important new licensed medicine, given its positioning and use in the treatment of chronic heart failure particularly in paediatrics."

This comes after the firm moved to new purpose-built business premises in Buckinghamshire last month as part of its plans for long-term growth.
