Welch Allyn launches Connex Clinical Surveillance System
Welch Allyn has announced the launch of its new Connex Clinical Surveillance System in the US and selected international markets.
The system is designed specifically for the medical/surgical environment and incorporates technology from a number of manufacturers. Medical professionals will be able to monitor and identify early warning signs of potential patient deterioration using this new product offering.
Designed to electronically capture and document vitals from the bedside directly to the electronic medical record, it offers acoustic respiration from Masimo, Microstream end-tidal CO2 technology from Covidien and contact-free motion, heart rate and respiratory rate monitoring from EarlySense.
The system also includes a central station for remote viewing of patient status and alarm notification capabilities to deliver critical alarms not only in the patient's room, but also to a central monitoring station or even a mobile phone.
Doug Linquest, senior vice-president for the vital signs business unit at Welch Allyn, said: "Our new solution can help clinicians anticipate the worsening of an existing condition or the appearance of a new one."
The company is one of the world's leading medical technology manufacturers and has been in business for nearly a century.
