Henry Schein completes buyout of EU Arseus businesses

Henry Schein has completed its acquisition of several businesses belonging to the Arseus group, a move that will strengthen its capabilities in Europe.

The firm has finalised the purchase of four distributors serving dentists and dental laboratories in France, the Netherlands and Belgium – Arseus Lab, Arcade Dentaire, Arseus Dental Solutions BV and Arseus Dental Solutions NV.

In addition, the transaction included the acquisition of Logiciel Julie, a French dental practice management software company. This takeover had closed at the time this deal was first announced at the beginning of last month.

Together, the five acquired companies represent annual sales of approximately $97 million (58.86 million pounds).

This week, the company also announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2013, during which it generated a record net sales total of $2.5 billion.
