Welch Allyn’s Connex to offer seca device connectivity

Welch Allyn has upgraded its Connex Vital Signs Monitor to enable wireless automated interfacing with scales and measuring devices from seca.

The company has partnered with seca, a global leader in medical measuring and weighing systems, to enhance the connectivity between Connex and the seca 360 system. It is the first time Welch Allyn has offered a wirelessly-connected weight and height solution for both physicians and patients in low-acuity settings.

A seca adapter that plugs into the Connex device will be used to support the wireless communications, allowing them to interface from almost 100 feet apart, depending on the configuration of the office.

This will help to accelerate workflows, eliminate documentation errors and increase the speed of data recording.

Doug Linquest, senior vice-president of the vital signs business unit at Welch Allyn, said: "In order to improve patient outcomes, healthcare providers need access to accurate patient data from the initial point of care."

This comes after the company launched its new Connex Clinical Surveillance System in the US and selected international markets last month.
