Virgo honoured in AHPA awards

Virgo has won a string of accolades from the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), with six employees set to take home the body's Visionary Award in a forthcoming ceremony.

Natasha Weaver, Heather Granato and Jon Benninger, of Virgo's health and nutrition network, are among those being honoured by AHPA, which will present the 2014 prizes in Anaheim, California on March 6th during the Natural Products Expo.

In addition, chief executive officer John Siefert will receive the Visionary Award, as will Natural Products Insider editor-in-chief Sandy Almendarez and SupplySide director Dana Hicks.

Commenting on Virgo's clean sweep, AHPA president Michael McGuffin said the six individuals had each "helped to create reliable resources for the trade".

Mr Siefert added: "Receiving the Visionary Award is a statement to the industry of VIRGO’s dedication to innovating the herbal and natural products industry through our events … and our media brands."

AHPA was founded in 1982. The non-profit's annual award programme was established in 2006.
