Horiba launches new multifunctional haematology analyser

3rd March 2014

Horiba has announced the launch of Pentra XLR, a new compact five-part DIFF haematology analyser that offers a wide range of advanced features.

Incorporating full reticulocyte parameters to facilitate the investigation and diagnosis of haemopoiesis and anaemia, the diminutive device is aimed at laboratories with limited space or smaller workloads that nevertheless do not want to compromise on quality.

It eliminates manual methods to enhance laboratory productivity and ensure standardisation of the reticulocyte count, while its large capacity auto-loader and ability to process 80 samples per hour improve its automated performance further.

The system is built on the same proven reticulocyte technology as the manufacturer's higher-throughput Pentra analysers, ensuring quality and full compatibility of results and reagents.

Cleve Wright of Horiba UK said: "By incorporating full reticulocyte analytical capabilities, the Pentra XLR delivers high-quality detailed analysis for highly accurate patient diagnosis on a compact platform."

This comes after the company last month announced the acquisition of Photon Technology International, a leading supplier of research spectrofluorometers for university and research labs and industrial and biomedical markets.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801699802-ADNFCR
